ELEFANT

Ein paar Kilo Metall, Instrumente, Holz und Wolle. »Elefant« ist ein ungewöhnliches Zirkusstück, das zwischen nachdenklichen Momenten und herzerwärmendem Humor balanciert. Der Elefant im Zirkus hat ausgedient. Doch dieser gutmütige, absurde und beinahe außerirdisch anmutende Riese verkörpert den tollkühnen Geist des Zirkus. So ist auch dieser Auftritt: groß, außergewöhnlich, roh, risikoreich und doch auch, fein, sanft und anmutig.

Nina, Valentin und Solvejg fragen sich, an welche Tradition sie anknüpfen und welche Faszination sie antreibt. Sie arbeiten mit typischen Zirkusobjekten wie dem Trapez oder den Diabolos. Im Programm haben sie aber auch einige Dinge, die normalerweise nicht in den Zirkus gehören. Die drei Protagonist:innen kreieren so etwas unverkennbar Eigenes und setzen konsequent auf Selbstgebautes. Ungeschminkt und direkt. Im Moment und unter freiem Himmel.

A few kilos of metal, instruments, wood and wool. „Elephant“ is an unusual circus piece that balances thought-provoking moments with heart-warming humor. The elephant in the circus has had its day. But this good-natured, absurd and almost extraterrestrial giant embodies the daredevil spirit of the circus. This performance is just like that: big, extraordinary, raw, risky and yet also delicate, gentle and graceful. Nina, Valentin and Solvejg ask themselves what tradition they are building on and what fascinates them. They work with typical circus objects such as the trapeze and diabolos. However, their program also includes some things that don’t normally belong in the circus. The three protagonists thus create something unmistakably their own and consistently rely on self-made objects. Unadorned and direct. In the moment and in the open air.
